"друг" (friend) used to also mean "lover" or "mate" in old style Russian. Perhaps "my love" is a better option.
"forgo" does need an object, but here it is assumed (don't forgo [me]), I also needed a rhyme for "no".
"sorrow" is stressed at the 1st syllable, hence it is unsuitable for preserving the poetic form (which is paramount to me when translating poetry).
