THE SECOND FEMALE VOICE IN THIS UNIQUE LIVE APPEARANCE IS OF A CANADIAN MUSICIAN AND PROFESSOR
AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CANADA IN GRAPHIC ARTS.

IT IS BY FAR THE BEST FROM THE FEMALE VOICE IN THE FIRST CIRCULATION OF THE OFFICIAL VIDEO OF THE SONG.

HER BRAIN AND BEAUTY GO ALONG WITH FERRY.

HER NAME IS MARTHA JANE LADLY.

1Avalon is part of the King Arthur legend and is a very romantic thing when King Arthur dies, the Queens ferry him off to Avalon, which is sort of an enchanted island.

It's the ultimate romantic fantasy place according to Ferry who wrote the music and the lyrics of the song explaining the title as a middle ages fairy tale of love in which after the death of the King his beloved wife ferries him to rest in a better place than earth a place non existing in reality but only in love fairy tales, in a love paradise which is called at that times AVALON.

Bryan Ferry, the epitome of suave and elegant sophistication.

What a seductive, haunting song. Martha Jane Ladly is phenomenal! Just incredible. She makes an amazing contribution to this superb rendition of what is already an outstanding work of art.
The saxophone as well.
I think she makes this the best version of Avalon out there. Her stunning looks and pipes are such a bonus to this already incredible cut and performance.

The vocalist Martha Jane LADLY stood out more than Bryan FERRY.
Bryan looks annoyed.
Especially the fade in and then fade out of the two male and female faces make the big difference in this video.

Martha Jane Ladly is a Canadian academic, designer, and musician. She is a professor of design at OCAD (University Ontario College of Art Design).

Ladly also has had a long career as a musician and achieved international fame as part of rock band Martha and the Muffins.

She had a solo career in the mid--1980 s and then worked in design and education. Martha Jane Ladly is the backup singer!

She was the keyboardist and one of the two female vocalists named Martha in the Canadian band Martha and the Muffins.
