I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Sunt briza serii adiind pe câmp cu nalbă,
Sunt diamantul scânteind în neaua albă,
Sunt soarele-auriu în lanurile coapte,
Sunt ploaia blândă împărţind cu toamna şoapte.
Când te trezeşti în calmul dimineţii clar,
Sunt zborul izbucnit spre mările-de opal
Al stolului de păsări, urcând spre cerul pur.
Sunt înaltul înstelat al nopţii de velur.
Nu sta lângă mormântu-mi, amar plângând,
Eu nu-s acolo; eu n-am murit nicicând.
