- 1. The song was written while the band was in Durban, South Africa. They slept at the Parade Hotel and frequented the disreputable Jacko’s Bar, where they met prostitutes and heard their stories, from which they took the cue for Ebano.
- 2. Palermo is a city in Sicily, southern Italy. Many African migrants land in Sicily and then head towards other Italian cities or other European countries.
- 3. Bologna is a city in central-northern Italy. It’s in the same region as Modena, the city the Modena City Ramblers come from.
