Hello. Hope everyone is safe and healthful.
This thread is meant to promote awareness and enforce the following point of the FAQ (section 3.9).
Partial transliterations ( transliteration in two scripts) are not allowed.
There has recently been a wave of partial transliterations - and they all show up for us. I've been giving authors of these warnings and seven days to update their work. After this time, if no action was taken, all those were unpublished. Admins and my fellow Moderators are all aware of it, and as it's stated in the FAQ (and we keep track of each and every of this occurrence), we aren't doing anything wrong.
That said, this is meant to enforce that transliterations should not mix multiple scripts (Latin, Devanagari, Hangul, Kanji, Cyrillic, etc.) - even if the original song is in multiple scripts. Why so? Because partial transliterations do not help anyone. Those who don't use one of the multiple scripts used won't be able to understand the lyrics anyway. As the community also helps people learning languages, it's best to avoid doing that.
What can be done in those cases?
1. Add a full transliteration in a single script.
2. Add two separate transliterations, one for each different script.
Thanks to everyone for their comprehension.
Alma Barroca - Moderator.
