*** In the last two lines of the first verse wordplay of the Bulgarian verb “бъркам” / bŭrkam/ is used: it has two meanings – to mistake and to put your hand/fingers in something. Literally: you mistook me for a kitty-cat and you are putting your hand/fingers in something else. This can be interpreted as the man she is addressing either stealing her heart or putting fingers in her private parts, however, this is not contextually clear. In the translation I’ve left this ambiguity: he either ‘took’ her heart or her virginity.
