You could probably say to'atu or toto'atu which figuratively means 'good job!' :glasses:

No, I think you're right. The word 'mala' is only used in a religious (Christian) context, otherwise, you would use the word 'kovi' which is the common word for 'evil' or 'bad'. Words that are unfamiliar in Tongan are mostly borrowed from English, however, there are some words that the early French missionaries "adopted" to suit certain religious terms...but they were in Latin, not French hehe. Words like "sangata" which comes from the Latin "sancta" (sacred/holy) for example. Again, "sangata" is only used in ecclesiastical-Tongan. And in the "common" tongue, "tapu" (sacred/forbidden) is used.
