Tardy
User833TAKEN FROM THE DESCRIPTION BOX FROM UNDER THE MV:
Disrupting all time and space, throwing away the phone, the chip-wrapped minced meat invades the mouth of the hunting dog at this moment.
In the church, the old piano that sleeps, hears whose heartbeat... I thought my love for you could be immortal: I was wrong.
The vows soaked in the Wagner wedding march lied to the ears.
Wiping away every star, pouring the bandaged moonlight into the ocean.
You on the wheelchair, quiet like a poem.
At the end of the poem, you and I, are both late to come.
Xue Zhiqian is well-versed in the subtleties of leaving blank spaces in his creations. That's why this originally elegant and beautiful "Tardy" took more than 300 days and nights to refine and complete the magnificent emotional perspective, from auditory "sketch" to visual "epic". The cleverly layered narrative structure, parallel montage, and open ending of the MV not only bombards the viewers visually, but also leaves unlimited space for interpretation of the MV plot - it can be about the obsession of love, about the dissection of human nature, about the questioning of the essence of life, and more.
In the MV, he fantasizes about using an empty city to build a garden of Eden that belongs only to the two of them, so he hides her in the ruins. But even if he cuts off the trajectory to Mars and painstakingly pieces together all the sweet scenes, except for her blank gaze, the expected happy plot does not come towards him in droves. She, who seems numb on the outside, senses a kind of emotional catastrophe called - being spared from disaster.
The packed church is filled with puppets that he carefully arranged. The wedding march he hums in his mouth floats in the empty and silent air, more like a dirge. At the wedding, the vows that attempted to bind each other were loosened by her tears. Self-esteem crashes and scatters on the cross in his hysterical roar at this moment. He has worked so hard to imprison her in the ruins of love.
The melody gives you an abstract section. The visuals give you a concrete one. Between abstraction and concreteness, appreciate Xue Zhiqian's apocalyptic love song allegory.
"I love you" is the dialogue that lovers love to hold onto. This autumn, let's go and see another kind of unwavering love - "I love you".
Dissolve loneliness and resist loneliness.
