We took a trip to IKEA
One Friday afternoon
In your cousin's Toyota
Because there were a few things we needed
But already on the way out there
Things started to go wrong
And you got so damn mad
Because I asked you to relax a little
We just needed a folding chair
A few lockers and a Billy bookcase
And it was all fun and games
And we almost moved in together
But there were no parking spots
And they were sold out of the white wine glass
We had marked out in the catalogue
So we'll never come to IKEA again
We were away from each other
'Cause you wanted to look around
After scented candles, cups and jugs
And all sorts of other unimportant things
But you hurried back
With a pillow that was indescribably ugly
And you looked so pleased
Then I said, "Forget it, let's go back home"
We just needed a folding chair
A few lockers and a Billy bookcase
And it was all fun and games
And we almost moved in together
And they were sold out of the white wine glass
We wanted to use for our housewarming
And a fight broke out in the canteen
So we'll never come to IKEA again
But the final straw was not until
You went up and looked
After toys and children's furniture somewhere on the first floor
It was quiet in the car
On the whole car ride home
And I spent the night in the living room
On our newly purchased guest bed
We just needed a folding chair
A few lockers and a Billy bookcase
And it was all fun and games
But at IKEA everything fell apart
But there were no parking spots
And they were sold out of the white wine glass
You had marked out in the catalogue
So we'll never come to IKEA again
No, we'll never come to IKEA again
