I'm wondering why you translated these two parts differently although it's the same structure in both:
I see a girl, - Ich sehe ein Mädchen, das sich wundert
wondering why
her heartbeat can't keep up
I see a boy, - Ich sehe einen Jungen, der sich wundert ?
wondering how - does "wondering" refer to the subject or to the boy?
nobody figured it out

Hey! It was just a personal interpretation :)
The lines about the girl sounded more introspective to the girl itself, while the ones for the boy sounded like someone watching from far away, knowing what no one has figured out to me.
I changed it now since it seems confusing to alter the lines between!

Thanks for the explanation! It's up to you, it's your translation! ;)

That's how I would see it, and I'd like to know the native speaker's view, maybe there is a reason he chose to interpret it differently that I don't see
