There are a number of variations on this song, and here is what I believe matches what is presented in this version. The song is a traditional folk lullaby from Kyūshū, specifically the town Itsuki in the Kumamoto Prefecture, and is somewhat heavy in the dialect of that area. Since I cannot give furigana here, readers of Japanese who are unfamiliar with this dialect should look to the transliteration and/or my references to assist with proper readings.
