Caviar

Caviar

Do you know what caviar is?
I've never seen nor eaten it, I just hear about it
But do you know what caviar is?
I've never seen nor eaten it, I just hear about it

Caviar is food of the rich
I'm curious, I just know that it's eaten
In abundance on the tables of very few people
But if you look to the side, you see hunger
I prefer fried egg, farofa and fried pig skin
In my house, that’s more what we eat
So if someone comes to ask me
What is caviar, I only know the name

Usually one who eats this dish
Is a powerful person, not just anyone
Who am I to make fun of it
If I live in a ditch fishing for mucum
Still, I don’t complain about life
Although painful, I manage to keep going
One day I’ll hit the lottery
And even this delicacy I can taste

Very good translation, specially because this is a very hard song to be translated.

I have some suggestions though, since that I'm not fluent in English, you can take the idea, and improve it if you will correct it:

Na mesa de poucos fartura adoidado:

It means that the "Caviar" is just on the table of some people (just those powerful one, as it will say in the next lines) and once that it is on the table, there is A PLETHORA this, abundance.

So... there is a plethora of Caviar on just a few tables (just those who can afford it)

Sou mais ovo frito, farofa e torresmo

I'm not sure if "I'm more" expresses the full meaning, if it does, please, disresgard my suggestion. "Eu sou mais" is a colloquial expression for "I prefer to".

So, I prefer to eat fried egg, farofa and fried pig skin.

Hope it brings some improvement :)

Thanks man that helps a lot. Especially the pouco fartura adoidado part...I just guessed on that. I should have said "I'm more of a .... kind of guy.

You should choose between "those who eat... are powerful persons" or "one who eats... is a powerful person."

I think "I'm more, fried egg..." although very colloquial, is correct.
