Konstantinos Argiros is showing great emotion while singing this song. He remembers his beloved city of Athens and recalls how lovely and beautiful it used to be. Along with his love, he has lost the city he used to be proud of.
The Philopappou neighbourhood has taken its name from the Philopappos monument on top of the Hill of the Muses right next to the Acropolis.
The historic church of Agios Demetrios "Loumbardiaris" (=bombardier) is located on the foothills of the Hill of the Muses.
Vassilis Tsitsanis (1915-1984) was a legendary songwriter and singer.
