God is Dead

I've seen
The people my age going away
In the roads that never lead anywhere
Looking for the dream that leads to madness
While looking for something that they don't find
In the world they already have
In the nights that are bathed by wine
In the rooms that are transformed by pills
In smoke clouds
In the world made of cities
Opposing or swallowing
Our tired civilization

It's a God that is dead
Along roadsides, God is dead
In cars paid by installments, God is dead
In Summer myths, God is dead

I've been told
That this generation now doesn't believe
In what is often masked by faith
In the eternal myths of the homeland and of the hero
Because it's finally time to reject
All falsehoods
The faiths made of habits and fear
Political work that's just careerism
Self-absorbed conformism
The dignity full of emptiness
The hypocrisy of those who always
Back the winning side and never the losing one

It's a God that is dead
In killing fields, God is dead
With race myths, God is dead
With confederate hate, God is dead

But I think
That this generation of mine is ready
For a new world and for a newborn hope
For a future that they already have in their hands
For an uprising without weapons
Because now we all know
That if God dies, it's for three days
And then he rises again
In what we believe, God is risen again
In what we want, God is risen again
In the world we'll build, God is risen again

Good evening, Celal.

Thanks for reporting that, I have deleted that extra 'what' from this translation.

Hi!
I have a couple of suggestions for you, but please take them with a pinch of salt as English is not my first language.

- In the rooms that are made of transformed pills
"in the rooms that are transformed by pills". It's likely a reference to drug use during parties

- To being against or to swallow / our tired civility
"Opposing or swallowing / our tired civilization"

- Because the moment of denying has arrived / all that is not truth
"Because it's finally time to reject / all falsehoods

- "A policy that is only to build a career"
Political work that's just careerism

- "concerned conformism"
self-absorbed conformism ("interessato" here has a negative connotation, it's a holier-than-thou attitude maintained to pursue one's interests)

- The hypocrisy of who always / Has the reason and never has injustice
"the hypocrisy of those who always / back the winning side and never the losing one"

Hope this helps!

Thanks Juan :)

I spotted another small thing:
"La gente della mia età" = "people my age"

Thanks again. I really don't know why I added 'city'... It's been corrected. ;)
