Women and Wine

With a cup of wine in the hand
a guitar and a woman's love
we will be looked upon as royalty
with sympathy and love.

Because in Spain what is plentiful is nobility
and we feel so happy to sing
until the pains become pleasures
because we have the greatness to show.

Long live wine and women!
and the roses that heat our sun!
Long live wine and women
for they are the gifts of the Lord!
And long live every corner of my homeland.
Long may they live together as one!
Forming our flag
and the armour of my Spain.

When you listen to the songs of Spain
it's impossible to control your heart
because your veins and soul throb
and you become masters of love.

And it doesn't matter that they call me vain
We are all really Spanish
And when foreigners come to us
befriend them with a hug.

Long live wine and women!
and the roses that heat our sun!
Long live wine and women
for they are the gifts of the Lord!
And long live every corner of my homeland.
Long may they live together as one!
Forming our flag
and the armour of my Spain.

Hello Conradb, your translation looks fine, thanks.
Only few points:
cariño de mujer > (good woman) woman's love (or affection)
lo que sobra es la hidalguía > what is (left) too much is nobility

Kind regards

If you say "is too much" you are saying "it's a burden", and here they are proud of it. I think it should be "There is plenty/too much"
In the refrain, sixth verse, shouldn't it be "... long may THEY live..." (the four corners)
Third stanza, second verse "it is impossible to CONTROL your heart".

Tank you for your work and interest.

Thank you, conradb for taking my suggestions in consideration.
"Long may they live..." repeats at the end.
