Rooster Calls

The rooster's calling already
It will be dawn soon
In a green forest, on the flat fields
A bird is walking.
In a green forest, on the flat fields
A bird is walking.

What kind of bird?
What kind of bird?!
Legs are yellow, wings are blue
It awaits me.
Legs are yellow, wings are blue
It awaits me.

Wait, bird, wait
You must always wait
If God ordered me for you
Then I'll be yours.
If God ordered me for you
Then I'll be yours.

When shall it be?
When shall it be?!
"Jibbone hamikdos ir Cijon tömale"
Then it shall be.
"Jibbone hamikdos ir Cijon tömale"
Then it shall be.

"Jibbone hamikdos ir Cijon tömale" means "When the Holy Temple be rebuilt and the city of Zion will be filled" - Then it shall be. It is Hebrew pronounced in the way that Hungarian Jews used to pronounce it (different from Israeli pronunciation.)

It's a famous Hungarian Hasidic tune composed by Rebbe Yitskhok Taub from Kaliv (1744-1821), the first Kaliver Rebbe

The untranslated line means when the temple will be rebuilt and the city of Zion meaning Jerusalem will be full the song Is about the jewish people in exile longing to return but forbidden to do so except by an act of God

The line reading if God ordered me for you should read when God orders me for you
