I'll go to the foot of our stairs

Exclamation of astonishment at seeing or being told of something shocking or unbelievable. Similar in usage to "I'll be damned."

"That politician was caught taking bribes."
"Well, I'll go to the foot of our stairs! I thought he was honest."

Common in Northern England, but somewhat dated.
