احمدآباد من را به من پس بده مصدق کجایی
دو دست لباست کو مرد دو دست لباست کو؟
نفس تنگی از جنگ و ننگ سیاستخو
آه مصدق
پس از تو کرامت درخت شد
پس از تو ارس در صمد غرق شد
پس از تو روی تپه های خون بیجان بیجان
شکفته شد
قلمها شکسته شد
نه سود بود
نه رود بود
سه چیز بود
گلوله بود
گلوله بود

Translation

Mosaddegh

Give “Ahmadabad”* back to me, where are you “Mosaddegh”*?
Give Ahmadabad back to me, where are you Mosaddegh?
Where are your two sets of clothes, man? Where are your two sets of clothes?!
You’re breathless of war and politic-natured shame
Ah! Mosaddegh! Ah! Mossadeq!
After you, “Keramat” turned into a tree
After you, “Aras” (river) drowned in “Samad”
After you, up on the bloody hills, “Bijan”, lifeless
was blossomed
The pens were broken
There was no gain
There was no river
There were three things:

* Iran’s ex-prime minister (1951-53) whose legal government was overthrown during a -recently admitted- coup d'état directed by the CIA. He died isolated under house arrest in Ahmadabad village.
