I fought hard to forget whatever you did
I fought but you threw away our dreams
You were a hug and I was like a small child closed in tight
I fought hard but your tears wounded me
but they were as fake as your love
I gave a lot but again you were ungrateful in the end
I, Athens, and you, Thessaloniki
I stay behind in my old house
and you leave as it gets farther away
my mind and heart have forgotten you
Our every moment was tears and lies
so many mysteries yet I suffered and learned
from all the guilt, but it all belongs to yesterday

Okay well at least I have always been taught that it's further and I have seen many Americans using it too. But okay now I know that both of them are correct :)

They never told that us at school and I have learned English for 11 years but I believe you :D They just told that it's suitable for both but it's nowadays used more when it comes to the distance between something. You are welcome and thank you all for correcting me then, I learned something new :)
