- 2. The title is an idiomatic Italian expression. "Da' retta a me" is formed by the imperative form (Da') of the verb "Dare" (To give). It can be translated as: "Listen to me", "Trust me", "Believe me", "Let me tell you", "Take my advice", "I'm telling you". I decided to use "Listen to me" because in my opinion it was the closest one to the original meaning of the song.
Anyway if we want to try a more literal translation it could be translated as "give heed to me" (keeping the verb "dare=to give") or "pay attention to me".
