The Wanderer

I, who used to be a passing bird of love
I, who used to be a butterfly of a thousand flowers
today I feel the nostalgia of your arms
of those pretty eyes of yours
of those loves of yours

Neither chains nor tears have tied me
but today I feel the calm and the quietude
forgive my tardiness, I am begging you
forgive the wanderer that today offers you his heart

There are absences that succeed
and ours did it
lets love each other with the peace
that we missed in the past
and when I die, neither light nor cry
nor mourning nor nothing more
next to my cross, I only want peace.
Only your heart, if you remember my love
bring a tear for the last time
and you will say silently a prayer
and by God, forget me after that

There are absences that succeed
and ours did it
let love each other with the peace
that we missed in the past
and when I die, neither light nor cry
nor mourning nor nothing more
next to my cross, I only want peace.
Only your heart, if you remember my love
bring a tear for the last time
and you will say silently a prayer
and by God, forget me after that

There is a charming video of the 20 year old Alejandro singing this song in the Film "Mi Querido Viejo," in which he stars with his father, Vicente. The scene shows his character being videotaped. During the mariachi interval the camera pans over to Vicente, whose character is watching the proceedings. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwzWS3kCgBs

great job, only a couple of minor comments, Id say :
1- nada más = anything else.

2- silencio dirás una plegaria y por Dios, olvidame después. "and you shall silently say a prayer and for God sake, do forget me afterwards.
