The Village Son
It is my pride to have been born in the most humble neighborhood
Away from the hustle of a fake society,
I did not have the misfortune of not being a village son
I count myself amongst people who have no insincerity.
My destiny is very similar, I want it as it comes,
enduring a sadness or going after a dream,
I go life's way, very happy with my poverty.
Since I have no money, I have a lot of heart.
A descendant of Cuauhtémoc,
Mexican by fortune,
unlucky in love, I'm a drunk and a troubador,
but how many millionaires would like to live my life,
to sing to poverty without feeling any pain.
That is why I'm proud to be from the most humble neighborhood
Away from the hustle of a fake society,
I compose my songs so that
the people will sing them for me,
And the day that the people fail me, that day I will cry.
