سلام لغزة

لنا اللهُ في كلِ حزنٍ وهَم
بلادي تئنُّ بدمعٍ ودم
لناَ اللهُ رغمَ ليالي العَنا
وهولِ المآسي وحجمِ الألم
 
لنا اللهُ عند أنينِ الجراح
وفقدِ الشهيدِ بساحِ الكِفاح
لنا اللهُ في كلِ وقتٍ وحين
فمن عتمةِ الليلِ يأتي الصباح
 
سلامٌ لطفلٍ يتيمٍ بكى
لمعتقلٍ صامدٍ ما اشتكى
لجدٍ رأى نكبةً ثانية
دروسَ الثباتِ بعزمٍ حكى
 
نزوحٌ وجوعٌ وقهرُ الخيام
شَهِدنا صنوفَ العذابِ الزؤام
كتبنا بصبرٍ حروفَ التاريخ
وما اهتز جِفنٌ لشعبِ الكِرام
 
لذكرى عزيزٍ مضى للخلود
تناديه أمٌ عَسَى أن يعود
سلامٌ لغزة سلامٌ سلام
لشعبٍ عظيمٍ ونحنُ الشهود

Translation

Salute to Gaza

We have God with us in every sadness and tragedy
Gaza is groaning in tears and blood
We have God with us despite the nights of suffering
And the horrors of tragedy and the intensity of pain
 
We have God with us when the wounds groan
And when the martyr is lost in the battlefield
We have God with us at all times
For from the darkness of night comes the dawn
 
Salute to an orphan child that cries
To a staunch prisoner that never complains
To a grandfather that saw a second Nakba
Lessons in persistence determinedly told
 
Displacement and hunger and the suffering in the tents
We witnessed all kinds of painful torture
Patiently, we wrote out our history
And no tears fell1 for this honourable people
 
To the memory of a loved one that is now gone forever
His mother calls out to him in hope that he may return
Salute to Gaza, salute to Gaza
To a great people and we are the witnesses
