The morning paints with gentle light
The walls of the ancient Kremlin,
At dawn wakes up
The entire Soviet land.
The chill runs through the collar,
The noise on the streets becomes louder.
Good morning, dear city,
Heart of my homeland!
Chorus:
Lively,
Mighty,
Invincible to anyone
My country
My Moscow, —
You are the most beloved!
Sun of May, shine brighter
From the blue sky,
To convey our happiness
To the height of the mausoleum.
So that brighter shine
Our slogans of victories,
So that Stalin raises his hand
To greet us.
The cheerful day has blazed up,
The streets are buzzing like a sea,
From the open windows of the school
Shouts of the Little Octobrists are heard.
May flows like an elegant river
On the wide pavement,
Flows as an immense song
Over beautiful Moscow.
The day ends, and the cool
Refreshes and awakens.
Having rested after the parade,
The festive city buzzes.
This is when couples should meet!
Talkative and lively,
Over the gardens and the boulevards
Spreads out Moscow.
Night has become similar to day,
A sea of light over the crowd.
Hey, comrade! Hey, passer-by,
Sing the song together with us!
Look! The entire Soviet land
Sings and dances,
Nothing is more lovely and beautiful than you,
Our red spring!
The sky-blue dawn looks
In the silence of Moscow river,
And singing are the night birds —
Signals of the locomotives.
The clock of the Kremlin tower beats,
The stars fade, the shadow melts...
Goodbye, yesterday,
Hello, new bright day!
The other translation had some inaccurate lines, so I decided to do my own. Some differences are also just because I think it looks better / can be understood better this way. Still, it is too similar to the existing one (there is only one good way to translate many of the lines) to not put that as a source.
