Soft Cream was an idol trio active in the first half of 1980s.
They made their debut on December 5, 1982 under the agency: Watanabe Productions. The group name Soft Cream (*what Japanese call soft serve ice cream) was inspired by a comment from the songwriter who wrote their debut song who wondered if the group would sell if they named it after a food.

Endo Yumiko
She was the main vocalist of Soft Cream. When she was the member of the group, she also made her solo debut in 1983, releasing two singles with the total sales of 28,440 copies. In 1985, she even appeared in the movie: "Checkers in Tan Tan Tanuki", co-starring with The Checkers (*3rd highest selling 1980s idol) playing the female lead. After Soft Cream disbanded, she mostly worked as actress, appeared mainly in Fuji TV dramas. In her career, she has starred in a total of 14 dramas (1982-1988) and 1 movies (1985). She retired at the end of 1988, but re-debuted again in 1993 under a new stage name Morishita Yumiko, releasing 2 more singles and 1 album, but soon retired again in 1994.

Otsuka Mami
She dreamed of becoming an actress since she was a kid and was a member of Himawari Theater Company. In 1982, she became member of Soft Cream. After the group disbanded in 1985, she returned to being an ordinary high school girl but one day she got scouted again on Takeshita Street in Harajuku which prompted her to return to the entertainment industry and make her debut as an actress with "Tenshi no Uppercut" (1986) as her debut drama. As an actress, she has appeared in a total of 13 dramas (1986-1991). She never has solo singing career. She retired around 1991.
