The monster
Every day going by
is more than enough,
as long as you're there.
Apart from you, no one else
is around here
awaken at the morning.
I open the door every night
to the monster that you said that would come in
and that is always present here.
However, it doesn't speak. It awaits.
The same old story,
it desires from me to narrate.
As for me: I sing songs against its threats
and I respond with a smile to its madness.
And I do not desire the gold it loves
and I look it in its eyes whenever it rushes in.
No matter how much its fire burns me up
throughout the icy night,
it's the only available light.
And, if I don't open the door,
the monster -which you mentioned that would visit-
will vanish.
