  • 1. Unsure of what's being implied here.
  • 2. Referring to one's country, or home, and inclusive to one's fellow citizens/compatriots.
  • 3. 'Buri' means 'Want' or 'Desire' in the Kapampangan language.
  • 4. 'Anak' means one's offspring, since it is gender neutral.
  • 5. 'Kahon' literally translates to 'Box'; Referring to grave boxes.
  • 6. Referring to a wristwatch.
  • 7. There are atleast 3 meanings of 'Tama': First is 'Right' or 'Correct', second is 'Hit', and third is slang which refers to being 'hit' by the high of drugs or alcohol. Since I am unsure of what is truly meant, I chose the first meaning.

Hello! I read through the translation and its actually very correct just some minor comments

First footnote references the laws of the Philippines are archaic or offer little protection and incentive, thereby it is expired just like moldy rice as nobody wants to stay in the Philippines and nobody wants to eat moldy rice

5th Footnote, it is a reference to Filipina Maids who return to the Philippines "chopped". During the time period where this was written, there were lots of reports of Maids being abused, one even stuffed inside a freezer and killed, and is saying that when they get home, they get home inside a "Box" as they cannot go home in a coffin as they have been chopped

6th Footnote, the watch being redeemed is a reference to "sanglaan" or pawning wherein Filipinos pawn jewelry and other items in order to get quick money to support their families or to ease financial burden. There is a time limit where you can "tubos" or ransom it meaning you are able to get it back. Basically the singer in the line is trying to tell his/her wife to "Go and pawn the watch for some money, when I get my paycheck we will repay its ransom and get it, and with that money, buy whatever Angelo wants"

Finally, for footnote number 7, it is both the first and second translations, the final line is a reference to how eroded the moral fabric of the Filipinos are now. Basically it says "once there were so many people who had the correct or right ideas, but now they are all gone" saying that the people who could have made the Philippines prosper all left

Sounds depressing but hey thats the Philippines for you
