Meanings of "to be somewhere"
*I was there - this is also an occasionalism, a phrasal verb which means that someone (the narrator, the author, a real or a made-up person/character) have had a certain type of an experience.
Hence we have at least two ways of using this stylistic device/idiom.
1) To be somewhere from the point of view of territory
E.g. Would you like to go to the Czech Republic? - Thank you, lad, I've been there
2) 'Hey, can you please help me find a mediator? After a festival our band had to leave in a fuss, we seemed to have dropped ours'. - 'I bet (BrE)/guess (AmE) it's better to find another one or make a copy, unless you have a Tesla's brain or a Messing's charm to find the previous one, however I feel somewhat similar, I've been there'. .
3) 'Been here, been there, don't want the T-shirt' - as far as I know, this is an occasional idiom which is linked to Adam Clayton from the 'U2' band. This was posted on one of the 'unofficial fan forums' more than 15 years ago.
