Su Bentu de su Sero

Cantos disizos t’at lassadu custa vida
chi penosa ses passande
che pitzinnu isetande
carchi cosa chi ti facat riere de continu.
Custos bint’annos sun passados che de anidu

beneichende su Segnore pro sa vida chi t’at dadu.

isperantziosa custa vida,
e abbaidare sos fiores
e bier cando in su chelu cantan sos puzones.

beneichende su Segnore pro sa vida chi t’at dadu.

beneichende su Segnore pro sa vida chi t’at dadu.

The Evening Wind

How many desires this life has left to you,
this painful life which you are passing through,
like a child waiting
for something that makes you laugh continuously.
Your last twenty years1have passed like a breath
but you feel relieved by the hope
to find serenity
so that you can see peace in your life.

And you let yourself be lulled by the evening wind
without fear if the sun will set,
so as to have always the courage to wait for the dawn
blessing our Lord for the life he has given you.

But destiny will not be bright forever:
after the clouds, the sun rises
and I pray to our Lord
that He should clear up your pain.
So you still have the courage
to look at your life,
a hopeful life,
to look at the flowers
and to see the birds singing in the sky.

And you let yourself be lulled by the evening wind
without fear if the sun will set,
so as to have always the courage to wait for the dawn
blessing our Lord for the life he gave you.

And you let yourself be lulled by the evening wind
without fear if the sun will set,
so as to have always the courage to wait for the dawn
blessing our Lord for the life he has given you.
