Enlightenment

The 3rd album by Thornapple released in 2019.

Compared to previous releases, this album seems to have a sound that's more contained, well-rounded and balanced. However, that doesn't mean Thornapple has strayed too much from their rawness and intensity in feeling: this time delving into more mythological and phylosophical (or even religious) motifs and exploring feelings through the lens of cosmos, stars, planets, mythical creatures and seasonal changes, Thornapple masterfully expresses the process of becoming and interprets the concept of ascension in their own way and with fascinating allegorical sensitivity. Hence the title Enlightenment – one can feel that Thornapple chooses titles for their albums with great care and much thought to represent and conclude the entirety of the album into one single phrase.
