The Gipsy Kings are gypsies, yes, with Spanish background, but they are French, and I assume that's what they speak in their daily life (if they want to communicate with people around). In their songs, taking this one as an example, there are not french words, they are all Spanish words put together without any grammatical structure, or meaning. Their lyrics are not a recognized dialect, either. And, what is more, the word "gitane" doesn't appear in the Spanish dictionary; it must be the word "gitano"(gypsy) in French.
I am not trying to give lessons, it is what I know and think about them.
I don't understand how they keep on presenting them, professionally, as 'Spanish speakers'. (Great music, though).
