Did the dew? How anybody suppose to sing it? May be it's right grammatically , but the sound of it just don't fit the song.

Washed them the dew morning and night. May be I'm not a very good singer, but it's suits the melody better. There is nothing smug about it, just my opinion, for what it's worst.

there's a missing beat, an accent in your phrase. The sentence is : The dew did wash them, in the morning and night. You need the extra syllables.

Washed by the dew at night and the day, Touching so gently their green flowing braids. And you can take it to the Post office.

to my american ear it dosen't sound right, but I appreciate your help. It's fitting it to the accents in the music that's not straight forwards . The phrase starts with 5 syllables, before a whole note is introduced, Your text dose'nt fit. It's more involved then translating for content. Thanks.

Trees were somtimes planted to mark important occasions. birth, going off the war, travel, to mark life, or a safe return return - if the tree lives, so does the departed where ever he is. It was a living reminder.
