kuusen alla me kuunnellaan
kuinka vehmaan puron vesi liikkuu
laulullaan se lumoaa
salakielellä kertoo tarinaa
 
jatkaa puro matkaansa
jokeen ruskeeseen laskee
uurtaa uomaa uutteraan
pysähdy ei milloinkaan
 
kaukaa saapuneet virrat
yhteen viimein kietoutuu
aaltojen alla maailma
jonne meillä ei ole asiaa
 
veden pinta nousee
usvainen verho kohoaa
taivaisiin asti kurkottaa
pitkin pilviä pois vaeltaa

under the spruce we listen
to the lush flowing brook
entranced by its song
its story in a secret tongue
 
the brook continues on
flowing to a brown river
carving its channel, tireless
not stopping for a moment
 
streams from far and wide
entwined together, at last
a world beneath the waves
to which we have no claim
 
the water’s surface a rising tide
a veil of fog rising high
reaching up to the sky
away along the clouds it flies
 
under the spruce
on your face
waterdrops
