General:
- I’m a teenager from the USA. I’ve been to 2 other continents so far and want to visit as many places as possible (and maybe live in some of them someday).
- I really love languages; I'm currently learning Spanish. I'm supposed to be pretty good at it, but haven't been practicing it enough due to ventures into other languages (such as Armenian). I'm trying to regain my proficiency, but so far I still understand more than I can produce.
Interests:
- I like nature, travel, writing, snorkeling, reading, music, and history.
- I write poetry. I like incorporating Spanish and Armenian into my poems every now and then.
- I'm currently learning acoustic guitar and will eventually move to electric guitar as well. I have played violin in the past and hope to pick it back up soon. I also plan to learn electric bass.
Music Interests:
- Katarsis, Ladaniva, Kyla Vėjas! and King Crimson are my absolute favorite artists.
- I also listen to Yes, Aklì, Rush, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Arto Tunçboyacıyan & Armenian Navy Band, Elnio Rago Miškas, Pink Floyd, Brunette, and Oxymoron64.
- My music taste isn't centered in one genre, but shifts focus from one to another based on what band or sound I like best at the moment.
- I occasionally enjoy classical music.
Language Details:
- I taught myself some Armenian for some time, but not enough to translate anything. I can recognize the letters but can't read fluently; I'm lacking in grammar and vocabulary. Definitely a beginner, but I know some simple words and phrases (ex: Իմ անունը Էվելին է). I can mostly stammer through words when reading, but I'm bad at differentiating the aspirated vs unaspirated consonants on command. That's honestly the main reason why I'm taking a break from Armenian; it's frustrating to know the difference yet struggle to replicate it.
- I'm interested in Greek, Polish, German, Ukrainian, Swedish, French, Norwegian, Romanian, Irish, Russian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Kazakh, but I'm not actually learning them yet.
- I am currently learning the basics of Arabic. So far, I can recognize and write the letters, and have just started learning verb forms. I can make basic introductions and provide limited information on the weather & seasons.
- I've slightly (very slightly) looked into Lithuanian and I'm planning on learning it soon, but I haven't found any (free) resources that'll work for me.
- I also attempted to learn Irish through Duolingo a few years ago, but the app didn't explain any of the different noun and verb forms and the Wikipedia page made my brain spin, so I unfortunately gave up. I might pick it back up someday, however.
- I recently learned the Russian alphabet & have started studying basic vocabulary and *very* basic verbs.
