Well, I haven't listened to the original version yet. I discovered Bilja's version and then looked for the lyrics. When I first listened to it, I didn't even know it was a Bulgarian song. I used Google translate to identify the language.
But I'm listening to it now. I can't tell which version is more beautiful.
What's the name of the Bulgarian choir/ensemble singing the song? What's your suggestion?
The same as this one here, right?

I thought the other way round: put the widow fox song under Mysterious Bulgarian Voices. I imagine you have tens of thousands of folk songs and I don't think putting all of them would do them good. It's better to let the song have their own destiny. What do you think?
There is some reason in your words but on the other hand take a look at the comments here: https://lyricstranslate.com/en/bulgarian-folk-lyrics.html . Many people from other countries learne this songs but beeing folk songs they don't know who sings them. They just tr to find the correct lyrics. I've seen many cover versions of "Ergen deda" in you tube. The most people are more interested in lyrics than the choir/formation who sings the song.
Well, there's certainly truth in your opinion too. I'm not sure everyone (site admins) agrees since we already know the artist.
I have personally submitted many traditional songs (mostly Romanian ones), but I always posted them under an artist provided that I could identify that artist.
I don't know, maybe we'll find a way do both - label the songs as Bulgarian folk songs and put them under a certain artist. Let me sleep on this issue for a while.
Hey, kdravia, that Yoshida Brothers cover is awesome.
It reminded me of a cool Bulgarian guy.
Ah, yeah, and Rodrigo and Gabriela. I like covers. I wish I could sing or play an instrument.
And also Shunga Jung.
Well, I love music, but you wouldn't want to listen to me sing :P
What translations are you referring to? Because I don't speak Bulgarian. The truth is I also dislike assessing people's work in general. I don't like to say whether something is good or less good. My main focus in assessment is on French translations of Romanian songs. And some people feel sad if I give them less than 5 stars, so I'm trying to avoid rating translations in general.
Hey, I live at 50 km from your country, I used to watch cartoons and some TV shows on your national television in the late 80's, early 90's, but I didn't acquire too much knowledge on the language. I know some words and expressions (dobro utro, adin a nula, nula na nula, blagadaryoo) and a profanity that a Bulgarian girl taught me.
And my second biggest wish is to visit Kazanlak (the Tharcian tombs) one day. I totally love those paintings there, they are a lot better than anything in Louvre or the Hermitage museum. Leonardo da Vinci's works are just sketches compared to those mural paintings.
I live in a dark (small) town. (its name means "dark city" in Cuman language, unless it's derived from a Roman emperor's name)
Well, I love horses. I like dogs, cats, donkeys, cows and other animals too.
My nickname comes from some traditional dancers (sg. Călușar, pl. Călușari) who perform a horse-like dance. There used to be a festival in my town called Romanian Calus (Călușul românesc), but now it takes place in the capital of my department, Slatina). I used to go to that festival with my father and I loved those traditional dances. Very entertaining, very fast, very energetic.
We have town called Slatina also. This is my town of birth http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Razgrad but I live in Sofia.
