The mariachi's song (Canción del mariachi)

English translation

The mariachi's song

Versions: #1#2#3#4#5#6#7
I'm a very honourable man
And I like the best things
I don't lack women
Nor money, nor love

Riding my horse
I go through the sierra
The stars and the moon,
They tell me where I am going

Ay, ay, ay, ay
Ay, ay my love
Ay brown skinned girl
Of my heart

I like to play the guitar
I like to sing songs
The mariachi plays the accompaniment
When I sing my song

I like to drink alcohol
Aguardiente is the best
And also white tequila
With salt, it enhances its flavour

Ay, ay, ay, ay
Ay, ay my love
Ay brown skinned girl
Of my heart

I like to play the guitar
I like to sing songs
The mariachi plays the accompaniment
When I sing my song

I like to drink alcohol
Aguardiente is the best
And also white tequila
With salt, it enhances its flavour

Ay, ay, ay, ay
Ay, ay my love
Ay brown skinned girl
Of my heart

Ay, ay, ay, ay
Ay, ay my love
Ay brown skinned girl
Of my heart

Aguardiente is brandy in English: http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aguardiente
(For me it's simply Vodka! Na zdrowie!)

I'm sure that in the song he wasn't thinking of a specific beverage like brandy since many liquors fall under the aguardiente category. He just meant he likes strong alcoholic beverages be it vodka, brandy, pisco or whatever.

two of the words arent translated into English.

Sierra = mountain
Aguardiente = Brandy (Appears twice)

Actually...
Aguardiente means firewater, it would be like well drinks at a bar.
also, its with salt for flavor. and its not I like alcohol, it's I like to drink shots (little glasses).

awesome song.
