أصابك عشقٌ أم رميت بأسهم
فما هذه إلا سجيّة مغرمِ
 
ألا فاسقني كاسات وغن لي
بذكر سُليمى والكمان ونغّم
 
أيا داعياً بذكر العامرية إنني
أغار عليها من فم المتكلم
 
أغار عليها من ثيابها
إذا لبستها فوق جسم منعّم
 
أغار عليها من أبيها وأمها
إذا حدثاها بالكلام المغمغمِ
 
وأحسد كاسات تقبلن ثغرها
إذا وضعتها موضع اللثم في الفم

I get jealous when someone mentions her name
 
I get jealous of her clothes
when they touch her softened body
 
I feel jealous from her father and mother
If they whispered in her ears
 
I envy the glasses that kiss her mouth
