Translation

Mother Had Once a Child

A mother had once a child,
once a child – Nikola.
With star-like eyes, a rose-like face,
a strong child – Nikola.

He had enough of masters
and black slavery, fascistic.
Nikola flew into a battle to fight
with people’s great enemies.

Pirin and Rila became for him a home,
the dark nights – a cover.
A red standard was waving in hands
and led young lads.

Eh-eh-eh, Nikola, eh-eh-eh, a Pirin eagle.
Eh-eh-eh, Nikola, eh-eh-eh, a Bulgarian hero.

Thanks! As far I get it from the original the first line means “A women (that became a mother) gave birth to my child”. And my attempt with the almost literal translation failed. ;)
I've updated both translations to be more understandable.
