Η νύχτα είναι παγερή
και σιγοψιχαλίζει
κι απ’ την απέναντι γωνιά
το καπηλειό
το καπηλειό φωτίζει
 
Κι ένας απένταρος μπεκρής
έξω απ’ το ταβερνάκι
συλλογισμένος κάθεται
στο χαμηλό
στο χαμηλό πορτάκι
 
Θέλει να μπει κι αυτός εκεί
να άρχισει και να πίνει
μα είναι φτωχό το καπηλειό
και βερεσέ
και βερεσέ δε δίνει

The pub

The night is frosty
and it is drizzling a little
and from the opposite corner
the pub
the pub is lightened
 
And a penniless boozer
outside the small tavern
is sitting meditating
