Purple Clouds

[Verse (Yasha):]
30 degree (Celsius),
I'm cooling my head on the window glass,
Searching for the slow motion button
We live faster and faster
(And) party too hard
We meet our1 friends and forget the2 day,
(We) don't want no hassles, no pressure
(We) take a drag3, another gulp of Gin Tonic
Look(ing) into this sky: like from Hollywood!
Red bumps4 into (the) blue,
(It) gilds your city,
and above us lila clouds are moving into the night!

[Hook:]
We('ll) stay awake until the clouds are purple again!
We('ll) stay awake until the clouds are purple again!
oh-oh!
..until the clouds are purple again!
We('ll) stay awake until the clouds are purple again!
Look, up there is a new star:
Can you see it in spite of our fireworks?
We’re tearing all the strings away5
let them sleep, come one, let's take off!

[Verse (Marteria):]
Young and ignorant6,
(We) are standing on (top of) the roof
(We) divide the world (between us) and build a palace,
from plans and dreams - new every day!7
A little bit of money for problems,
we('ll) take what we want!
(We) want to be more, be more
than just a moment
Don't even tell me how many big names you know8
we drink a toast to the losers,
(we'll) have paper cups gilded,
(we'll) party hard, (we'll) have a soft fall9
onto the purple clouds!

[Hook]

[Verse (Mrs. Platnum):]
Can't you sleep either?
Can’t close your eyes either?
Let's wait together,
I'm feeling just like you!
We watch the sun rising - yeah, yeah!
We watch the sun rising - yeah, yeah!
We watch the sun rising - yeah, yeah!
We watch the sun rising - yeah, yeah!

Hi Sciera!

Here are a few suggestions to improve your English:

Title: [Purple Clouds] or [Lilac-Colored Clouds]

1st verse, line 2: cooling my head [on] (or) [against] the window[ pane].
line 6: We meet our friends and forget [the] day,
line 7: (We) don't want any hassles or pressure
line 8: we take a [drag] ** (clearly implied).
line 10 – red [bumps] (or) [runs] into blue
line 12: and above us, [purple] (or) [lilac-colored] clouds pass us by in the night.

Chorus:
Line 1: We’ll stay awake until the clouds are [purple] (or) [lilac-colored] again.
Line 3: see line 1.
Line 6: Kleinlichkeit: I would use “in spite of”
Line 7: [We’re breaking ourselves free from all the strings] (or)[We’re tearing all the strings away from us]

2nd verse:
line 3: We’ll [split/break] the world apart…
line 4: from plans and dreams – new every day.
line 5: a little money for [problems/difficulties]
line 7: (we) want [it] to be more
line 9: Don't tell me the []many big names you know. * “oh so” isn’t needed, it takes away from the message.
line 10: [We’ll gild our paper cups] or [ we’ll have our paper cups gilded.]
lines 11 and 12: we’ll party hard, and [take] a soft landing on the [purple/lilac-colored] clouds.
Chorus: see above.

3rd Verse:
Line 1: Can’t you sleep either?
Line 2: Can’t close your eyes either?
Line 4: I’m feeling just like you.

Thanks for the suggestions! :)

About "(We) don't want no hassles, no pressure", I think I'll leave it that way since the german lyrics are very colloquial

Quote:

line 3: We’ll [split/break] the world apart…

I think "divide" fits better. "aufteilen" rather means "sharing" than "breaking into two parts".

Quote:

line 7: (we) want [it] to be more

No, the german line doesn't mean that. It means they themselves want to be more.

Quote:

line 9: Don't tell me the []many big names you know. * “oh so” isn’t needed, it takes away from the message.

I added it because "komm mir nicht mit" is a very aggressive way of speaking. I'm not sure if the english translation without "oh so" also implies that.

Quote:

line 10: [We’ll gild our paper cups] or [ we’ll have our paper cups gilded.]

Grammatically you are right, but I wouldn't add an "our". The german line implies that they want to have every paper cup (in the world) gilded, not just their own.

Quote:

lines 11 and 12: we’ll party hard, and [take] a soft landing on the [purple/lilac-colored] clouds.

That's not what the german line says. In german, "sanfte Landung" would be the normal expression, too, but in this song they say "sanft fallen" instead, so that shouldn't be changed.
