I retired in 2023 after having spent three decades working in the music and film industry, both in Japan and Hollywood.
While I only started translating song lyrics from Japanese to English in July of 2024, I have enjoyed listening to J-pop since the 70's, and got into K-pop starting with first gen artists in the 90's such as S.E.S.
Looking back at 2025, it was a great year! I was fortunate to have seen Minamino Yōko ("Nanno") twice in Tokyo (concert as well as a dinner show), attended a Moritaka Chisato concert, and fan event with Shimazaki Haruka ("Paruru"). Can't wait for 2026, with a Twice concert in January, Koizumi Kyōko ("Kyon Kyon") concert in March, and more performances to come!
