Ваш чёрный карлик целовал Вам ножки,

Он с Вами был так ласков и так мил.

Все Ваши кольца, Ваши серьги, брошки

Он собирал и в сундучке хранил.

Но в страшный день печали и тревоги

Ваш карлик вдруг поднялся и подрос.

Теперь ему Вы целовали ноги,

А он ушел и сундучок унес.

The Black Dwarf

Your black dwarf kissed your slender feet with passion,

He was so kind, so sweet with you in jest,

And all your rings, your brooches of high fashion

He was collecting to keep in his chest.

But on grim day of sadness and disquiet

Your dwarf abruptly stood up and grew tall.

Now it was you who kissed his feet in riot,

But he left you and took the chest in thrall.
