It's Pouring With Rain
It's (the sky) pouring with rain*, the soil will become wet
My dear Golnesâ**, everything will be fine
It's (the sky) pouring with rain*, the soil will become wet
My dear Golnesâ**, everything will be fine
My dear Golnesâ works on the paddy field
She's planting rice***, I fear that she may have a cold
She's not very strong^
She's not very strong
It's (the sky) pouring with rain*, the soil will become wet
My dear Golnesâ**, everything will be fine
Drops of rain, (please) come down slowly
The blossoms of bitter orange trees^^ would wither (by heavy rain)
They are going to make my dear Golnesâ marry someone^^^
My dear God, in this winter
(Please) kill me or else (please) don't let her marry someone
(Please) kill me or else (please) don't let her marry someone
(Please) kill me or else (please) don't let her marry someone
It's (the sky) pouring with rain*, the soil will become wet
My dear Golnesâ**, everything will be fine
It's (the sky) pouring with rain*, the soil will become wet
My dear Golnesâ**, everything will be fine
My dear Golnesâ, don't regret
After a cold winter, spring will come^^^^
After a cold winter, spring will come^^^^
After a cold winter, spring will come^^^^
After a cold winter, spring will come^^^^

* The symbol of blessedness
** It's a female name, but literally, it means "The most lovely woman amongst women"
*** Iranian's main food throughout history, just like bread for Europeans.
^ This line refers to the fact that in the north of Iran, mostly women plant rice. Some of them are so young like Golnesâ.
^^ Bitter orange is the symbol of freshness for Iranians. They love the blossoms of the tree even more than its fruit.
^^^ Someone that she doesn't love. It's a very tragic fact about the girls in villages. This problem was very common in the past. Parents would make their daughters marry someone they didn't love.
^^^^ This line can be interpreted in two ways: 1- If Golnesâ endured, the poet would marry her and they would have a good life.
2- The time of suppression and oppression would pass one day and liberty would come to our country. (This is the political layer of the song)
