اونا که تو خلوت شب شعرهای حافظ رو خوندند
همه راه و رفتن اما بر سر دو راهی موندند
بهشون بگین که اینجا یه نفر همیشه مسته
یه نفر همیشه تنها سر این کوچه نشسته
بهشون بیگید که قصه اش مثل شاهنومه درازه
کی بوده کجا رسیده چه جوری باید بسازه
حالا قصه هاشو مستها توی میخونه ها میگند
اما اون همیشه مست رو توی اونجا راه نمیدند

به جام می پناه آورده ام از غم گریزانم

به مستی پای در میدان غم بنهاده ام امشب
مخند ای رهگذر بر من اگر افتان و خیزانم

Drunk
We too were madly in love and broken-hearted (x2)
We too were captivated by (our) lover's tresses
We too, in our younger days, blinded by love, (x2)
Were at beloved and lovers's command at some point
Don't look down upon our dry lips
We too were familiar with glasses and tumblers
Those who were told only the good stories in their lives,
Were subjected to every possible trick in the gamble of life
Those who read the poems of Hafez in the solitude of the night
Experienced everything but got trapped in a dilemma nevertheless
Tell them that there's some one here who's always drunk
Some one that is always sitting alone at the top of this road
Tell them that like Shahnameh, his story is long
Who he used to be, where he is now, how he is supposed to cope (live life)
Nowadays drunkheads recount his stories in the pubs
But they don't let him (the always drunk person) enter into that place(pubs)
Tell them that there's some one here who's always drunk

Tonight, I'm euphoric and drunk and singing (poems)
I seek the glass of wine, running away from sorrow
