About translator
The official English title has a different meaning to the Chinese title, I imagine to purposely hide the real meaning of the title behind another language, and thus I kept both with the official English one in parenthesis.
In the doorways of cram schools, there's often a huge list of names of people who got into prestigious schools, to show any onlookers that the cram school's method works for getting you into a good school. Funerals also often have a black and white photo cropped with the face only hung up to remind people of the person the ceremony is for.
