6am

It is daybreak, the sun is coming up
I wake up next to you, baby
And I still don't remember what happened yesterday
I wish I knew what your name was, girl

But what kind of party was it tha’ tha’ tha’
I threw last night wha’ wha’ wha’
I don't remember what happened
But what kind of party was it tha’ tha’ tha’
I threw last night wha’ wha’ wha’
I don't remember what happened

But what time is it? What happened?
Why is Farru's car parked in the bedroom?
I don't remember, All I know is that it was morning
And that I had a tattoo that said "Peace and Love"

But what a mess, I think I messed up
And mixed drinks with colored pills
What a feeling, I think I took something
The kind that knocks you out on the pavement

It's already 6 am
And I still don't remember a thing
I don’t even recognize your face
But you woke up in my bed
It's already 6 am
And I still don't remember a thing
I don’t even recognize your face
But you woke up in my bed

But what kind of party was it tha’ tha’ tha’
I threw last night wha’ wha’ wha’
I don't remember what happened
But what kind of party was it tha’ tha’ tha’
I threw last night wha’ wha’ wha’
I don't remember what happened

And I still don't remember a thing, my mind is a blank
Just that I was drinking lots of rum with moonshine
Dancing rumba in the club, the club was on and poppin’
That is my last memory before I blacked out
The bottle was almost empty and I was on my way
J Balvin was talking to me and I didn't know what he was saying
I think that we were introduced, I still don't know
I don't remember your name, my bad luck

It's already 6 am
And I still don't remember a thing
I don’t even recognize your face
But you woke up in my bed
It's already 6 am
And I still don't remember a thing
I don’t even recognize your face
But you woke up in my bed

It is daybreak, the sun is coming up
I wake up next to you, baby
And I still don't remember what happened yesterday
I wish I knew your name, girl

But what kind of party was it tha’ tha’ tha’
I threw last night wha’ wha’ wha’
I don't remember what happened
But what kind of party was it tha’ tha’ tha’
I threw last night wha’ wha’ wha’
I don't remember what happened

You gave this to your students? What kind of a corrupting influence are you?

Finally, a translation that makes sense!

There's some spoken bits at the start of the song. They are different depending on whether you go from the video that's available online or from the version that I hear broadcast all the time on XM Caliente. I would dearly love to know what they're saying in both cases . . . Please?

Can you post a link? Perks of teaching college students ☺ We also have extra credit nights at the club! We'd love to have you come along if you are in Columbus Georgia!

This is the version on YouTube:

Crap. It's one of those videos with Vevo content. You can't just click the Play button and watch it here. You have to hit the "watch me on YouTube" button. Sorry. That's not within my control. At least that does work.

But it differs slightly from what you hear on the XM. Which you don't hear so much now. They were playing this song about 18 times a day last summer but lately, it's maybe once every 3rd or 4th week. In any case, the one you would hear on the radio doesn't have the bit on the rooftop at the beginning of this video. But the radio version does have about a half dozen spoken words at the beginning.

Columbus Georgia. A bit far from Cincinnati. But if it should ever happen . . .

"Estamos aquí, Bal-cero" --> Here we are, Bal-zero [nickname for Balvin?]
"I know" [English]
"¿Qué vamos a hacer? --> What are we going to do?
Lo mismo, allá --> the same, there

I'm glad I asked. I thought it would be more along the lines of "Hey how ya doin'? Last night was crazy, eh?" Thanks!
