Translation

Low class citizen, y'all

I've completely withered, and when I die, everyone will turn their backs on me.
The absence of talent is the premise. Ordinary people who work hard are more valuable than geniuses.
But everyone has their limits, and as a result, I lost my mind.
Keeping up the pace, increasing gains, among the abundance of voice memos and texts.

The words of blood thirst and world ending cut my arteries.
It ended ten years ago, in the middle of the post-apocalypse.
NPCs1 who can't be the main characters; celebrities who laugh because they survived.
The revolution overslept again today and the song of dawn suddenly rises.

A cylinder that puts you into despair, a low class citizen who lives all sweaty.
Just one thing is enough, done in a smart way, y'all2.
Discarded it for my own protection. Will my chest hurt at the outcome?
Surely it will be our turn next. Shall we wait, smiling, at the gallows?

In dark times, cheerful songs are popular.
That's a story from a distant star. Music like that is unbearable.
I dreamed of falling in love and was saved by a rock star.
The shadow cast by shady successful people is a burnt field.

In a city filled with cynicism, those who stand out get lynched.
At an intersection, someone was run over and killed due to speeding ethics.
A self-proclaimed moralist who instigated, offering flowers.
Namu Amida Butsu3, save this world. Namu Amida Butsu, save this era.

A cylinder that puts you into despair, a low class citizen who just pays and pays.
Just one thing is enough, done in a smart way, y'all.
Removed it to give up. Were you satisfied with the result?
Surely it will be our turn next. Will we cry at the gallows?

Starting like "The Have-Nots" novel4. Even though we were poor, we kept up.
We walked hand in hand, through ups and downs.
We were given something to protect, and we said we could die for it.
Look closely, this is the guy we want to erase.

A cylinder that puts you into despair, a low class citizen carrying the burden of life.
Just one thing is enough, done in a smart way, y'all.
We shot it out to protect ourselves. What's the difference between us and the others?
Surely it will be our turn next, the gallows are a long procession.

Hey, thanks for your translation! Just wanted to say though, I was thoroughly confused by the "イーア" featured in this song, so I went on a bit of a research trip and found out that it is actually a reference to the "Eea", a parasitic species in the 1986 James Tiptree Jr. short story "The Only Neat Thing to Do". Apparently, this has quite a presence in Japanese pop culture. Just letting you know!

Thank you so much! It's so interesting.
I went along with the German reference beacuse, as you may know, japanese use some German words regularly like baito (part time job) that comes from German 'Arbeit' in normal everyday conversation and a lot more in manga and anime.

Hey, just want to add from the comment above; イーア (Eea) is a name and not related with the German 'ihr' at all. In the recent Ghost live concert, this character appeared in the story.

Thank you!
I know and for some reason forgot to update here...
Even though it may be a character's name, I belirve it does not change the meaning of the general idea of the song. :D
