In bokmål the title would be "Barndomsminne fra Nordland". The proper title is "Barndomsminne frå Nordland", though it is sometimes referred to by its opening words "Å eg veit meg eit land". One easy trap in the text is that "band" in this context refers to "the meeting point between dales, where they go separate ways". I could not find a good specific equivalent word in English.
