It's You Who She Prefers

Is this completely her fault
If she doesn't see anything
Else but you and it's bizarre
She sees you at night
Well, you're seeing her tonight
I wouldn't like to know
Which side of her body
Turns when she sleeps

Everything is upside-down
Nothing can be done about it
It's you who she prefers
My heart hurts
Everything is upside-down
Nothing can be done about it
It's you who she prefers
My heart hurts

Does she live without waiting
Without trying to understand
Is this the end of everything?
What remained of us
Is just one strand of her hair
Leave it there under my eyes
Like a thread on your back
Unravelling on your skin

In the darkness
Of the room
She sees you
In my place
In the darkness
Of this room
She sees you
In my place

Everything is upside-down
Nothing can be done about it
It's you who she prefers
My heart hurts
Everything is upside-down
Nothing can be done about it
It's you who she prefers
My heart hurts

It's you
It's you
It's you who she prefers
It's you who she prefers
It's you
It's you
It's you who she prefers
It's you who she prefers

It's you
It's you
It's you
It's you

Everything is upside-down
Nothing can be done about it
It's you who she prefers
My heart hurts
Everything is upside-down
Nothing can be done about it
It's you who she prefers
My heart hurts

Rien d'autre que toi = nothing else but you

Ce qu'a la fin de tout ? = What at the end of it all?
Ce qu'il restait de nous = What remained of us
Est un de ses cheveux = Is one (a strand) of her hair

Comme un fil sur ton dos qui défile sur ta peau = like a thread on your back which unwinds on your skin (this one is just a suggestion, though)

Thank you Kwame, I’ll edit it :)

Good translation. Doesn't deserve less than a four star.

Hi. I realized there is something unclair in both text and translation. Can you revise them? I.a.:

1) Elle te voit dans le noir(this verse is left apart)
2) Ya rien, à faire (il n'y a rien.../y a rien?) And why is there a comma between "rien" and "faire"?
3) ... un de ses cheveux ="one of her has" (???)
4) Laisse le la (Laisse-le là)
5) dans le noir/ de l'espace = In the night/ In this room(?)

Also regarding the “has” that was a typo I know it means hair and I fixed the missing line as well, I’ll fix the errors in the original lyrics now.

If you can be fussy about something such as a comma and a small obvious typo then you shouldn't be making spelling mistakes.
Unclair for unclear???

annabellannaannabellanna    Tue, 05/02/2019 - 15:22

I don't know if you are speaking to me. If so,I didn't want be fussy for a comma, except when a comma, put in a wrong place, changes the meaning of a phrase (i.e.: "there is nothing, to do.") For which concerns "unclear/unclair", when you write in a foreign language about another foreign language, could happen you mix them(clair" and "clear") don't you think?

Hi @annabellanna, I was referring to you. Your comment felt like it was an attack on, when you were trying to correct mistakes of @Swedensour. I just wanted to get your attention so you correct others gently.

annabellannaannabellanna    Wed, 06/02/2019 - 10:55

kwameGH , actually seems that the only one perceiving my post as a rude attack are you.
