You could see that she loved us very much
It's here that our pocket money
Disappeared inside the juke box
After class we'd go there for a drink
And once inside, Laurette would smile to us
And suddenly, our homework, our problems
Would disappear when she kissed us.
It was nice at Laurette's
When we had a party
She was on our side, Laurette
It was good, it was fun
And when we were broke
She would pick-up our tab, Laurette
And then, too, so we would be at ease
There was a corner in her bar, just for us
We would stay there and see the girls pass
An I know a few that we liked very much
If sometimes our souls ached
Laurette alone knew how to give hope
She talked and we would laugh all the same
In a blink of an eye she could change everything
It was good at Laurette's

While reading in English or French, I find myself translating in my head in Romanian. Great exercise, I reccomend it.
